Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called for Malaysia's development agenda to be distributed fairly across all social tiers, with emphasis on reaching farming and fishing communities. Speaking at a Hi-Tea gathering with local fishermen, farmers and residents at Pantai Leka Food Court in Muar on June 15, he stressed that progress cannot be limited to large-scale infrastructure or cutting-edge technology projects.
"This development must be enjoyed by all and guarantee convenience to the people, especially those at the lower level," Anwar said, underlining the need for leadership to venture into communities and understand their concerns directly.
While acknowledging the importance of technological advancement such as artificial intelligence and digital transformation for future economic competitiveness, the Prime Minister reiterated that the MADANI Government prioritizes the welfare and earnings of rural communities. He emphasized that responsible governance requires political leaders to actively engage with grassroots populations and champion their interests.
Anwar instructed the Cabinet and all political figures to regularly visit ground level to hear public concerns and address problems swiftly and effectively. He stressed that ensuring no community is sidelined from the country's modernization process remains critical.
The government remains committed to channelling social safety net provisions and targeted assistance through relevant agencies and authorities to guarantee effective implementation, according to the Prime Minister.
