Bangladesh Set to Elect Alamgir as New President in Historic Vote
Bangladesh's parliament will elect Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, the 78-year-old secretary general of the ruling Bangladesh Nationalist Party, as the country's 23rd president on Thursday, succeeding Mohammed Shahabuddin who resigned in July.
